VENTURE FOR AFRICA

2022

I am currently a full-time consultant business development manager and program manager at Venture for Africa (VFA). VFA is a fellowship program and platform that bridges the gap between exceptional local and global talent with Africa's leading tech startups giving individuals with the expertise and skills to work for a 3-month immersion program in the African business ecosystem. VFA works with startup partners who are looking to hire mid to senior-level talents.

I co-managed two cohorts of VFA's 20-week Fintech Product Management Bootcamp designed to upskill aspiring and existing product managers in Africa’s fintech space. Collaborating with senior product managers from companies like Barclays bank, Paystack, and Chippercash, I facilitated comprehensive learning. The bootcamp covered vital product management basics and featured a 7-week education phase. This was followed by a practical sandbox program, connecting budding product managers with startups to apply the new skills effectively. This experience solidified learning, enabling tangible contributions to startup growth. I also led the post-bootcamp community, sustaining a learning-rich environment that empowered participants beyond the program, helping them navigate challenges and seize product management opportunities. This bootcamp alone generated £23,500 worth of revenue across two cohorts of bootcamp.

Beyond orchestrating the bootcamp's execution, I have developed a robust hiring model, amassing a talent pool of nearly 3,000 accomplished global senior talents. Leveraging this network, I have facilitated the placement of six talents with tech startups that recently secured funding. This achievement has directly generated an impressive £62,800 in revenue for VFA, showcasing my impact on the organization’s success.
