PMP
2019
In 2019, I was certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI). PMI is the world’s foremost advocate for the project management profession with a global membership organization of 400,000+ dedicated professionals across over 180 countries. I was selected as a member of the PMI’s NextGen Insight Team, a group consisting of 14 global youth leaders with a mission to champion and foster engagement opportunities for the younger generation of project managers. By doing so, we aim to ensure that the voices and needs of NextGens are not only heard but also valued and supported within the industry. As the sole African PMI representative on the NextGen Insight team, I represent over 400 million youths across Africa, a third of the continent’s population.
PMI Educational Foundation has a partnership with Gen-E organized byJunior Achievement (JA) Europe, to integrate project management into programming that prepares the youth to pursue STEM and build microenterprises. In 2022 and 2023, I was one of the 4 judges selected for the JA Europe Gen-E event, the largest European entrepreneurship event where thousands of young entrepreneurs showcase their cutting-edge business ideas. As a judge, I evaluated over 40 startups and companies to decide the Best Application of Project Management Award against set criteria. I examined how effectively project management principles were applied in building the products as well as following specific digital transformation strategies.
