2018
In 2018, I was hired as a Business Development Executive at Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) now known as GTCO. It is one of the leading financial institutions in Africa with an extensive customer base of over 28 million across 10 African countries and the United Kingdom. GTCO has two digital products for online banking for businesses; GTBank mobile app for retail banking and an Internet Banking Platform known as GTBank Automated Payment System (GAPS) that allows businesses to access their accounts, make transactions, pay bills, as well as investment management.
In my role in the SME - service, and logistics unit, I was responsible for expanding the company's reach and financial success. Through my efforts, I successfully opened over 90 new bank accounts during my first 6 months, contributing significantly to the growth of our clientele generating a turnover exceeding £82,000. I led the team that acquired a major client, Fenline Energy Limited (Subsidiary of Forte Oil now Ardova Plc), a petroleum marketing company. This acquisition alone contributed to a significant financial transaction with GTCO worth over £1 million within two fiscal quarters. In 2021, I was promoted to the role of Business Development Manager where I led a team of three handling over 2,500 businesses, driving the growth and profitability of the organization. Within a span of two years, my contribution led to an 88% growth in my branch's balance sheet, translating to over £39.6 million by the year 2021. 90% of these transactions and services are done on GTCO’s digital products. GTCO has been awarded as the Leading Digital Bank in Nigeria by the World Business Outlook for three consecutive years.
