My career so far

GTB

2018

As the Business Development Executive at Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB)'s second largest branch out of over 200 branches in Nigeria, I spearheaded some key growth initiatives and contributed significantly to the branch and company’s success at large. One of the major contributions was my impact on GTB’s digital loan product, Quick credit for business. This is a time loan product aimed at financing the working capital for small and medium-sized enterprises across various sectors allowing businesses access loans as high as £17,000 without extensive documentation. I booked the highest loan in the organization surpassing £1 million in just 6 months. Over 60 of my customers secured substantial loans through my personalized guidance and understanding each client’s unique financial needs. These successful loan acquisitions not only strengthened the relationships between GTB and its clients but also improved the company’s financial gains.

During my time at GTB, I successfully opened over 500 business accounts. However, one of my most remarkable achievements was a major deal I closed worth £11.5 million with an international firm, Saporiti Italia to design the headquarter office of Famfa oil and gas, one of the largest indigenous owned exporters of crude oil in Nigeria. The 22-floor building is one of the most expensive in West Africa with a net worth of nearly £2.3 billion. I played a key role in establishing the account and financial infrastructure for Saporiti Italia. This involved opening up accounts in three different currencies (Naira, Dollar, and Pounds) and setting up the company on GTB’s digital platforms, including online banking and mobile banking services. I ensured that the company's financial operations were streamlined and equipped with the latest digital tools to enhance efficiency and convenience.
